Indians are good at English? Don't generalize! Why is india a great destination for outsourcing? Ask any BPO gaint and they will tell you command over language (En) and cheap labor. Here is what it can do. Excerpts from a MACOSX Forum: "I just had QUITE a time with D-link trying to get phone & email support and trying to get one of 3 of their products to work in my computer with NO luck. Plus tech support 1) has horrendous grammar to the point of confusion and 2) knows nothing about macs or compatibility, and to get the latest driver (1.4.7) you have to go to macupdate.com except they won't tell you that, they tell you they don't have drivers...." I sure thought D-Link outsourced in India. I quickly did a Google search and found it to be true. It outsources in Mumbai. D-link has it's own call center which offers International Support. Dude, Don't you think you should change your blog's title, considering what laptop you use these days? ;-) Posted by: Kiran Jonnalagadda at July 13, 2005 05:53 PMsure indians are goodin english and also in life HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY Posted by: srivatsan at August 16, 2005 03:07 PMHi Shalin I work for BPO company. There are certain challenges understanding american accent/culture but we try it our level best to do deliver quality customer service. What you are reading about bad service comes under minority. majority of clients are satisfied. be proud of BPO. You are rite Akhil, I don't want to generalize either way. China is right behind and can pose threat to the Indian industry. May seem impossible in the near future. But with the exponential growth India would defn find it diff to keep up standards and quality. Chinese are known for Economies of scale. It's wise not to be over confident.
