Dreams ~ Selected Poems by Shalin Jain

I always wanted to be "Published" and that day is soon approaching. You should soon be able to read a paper back edition of DREAMS (courtesy CafePress: Online Self-Publishing Company)

Dreams is a collection of my poetry mostly written during my last year at High School. It was only during the start of that year when my first poem won me a second place at an inter-school competition in the city. Apparently, I was surprised and so were others. After few months, it was Gulzar's (translation by Rina Singh) collection of poetry titled Silences that inspired me to write. This book is an effort to bring together some of my poetry which hasn't reached many. The book will be priced at $16.95 (Rupess 750 approx) and will be available for sale (online) by third week of Mar 2004 if not earlier.

For now I'll leave you with a poem that will feature in this book:

Reality

Last night
in my dreams
I saw you pass me by.

Yesterday,
I had surrendered my dreams
to the night and buried my hopes
in the soft shore sand

Yesterday,
the tinted horizon had left
traces of unconcluded facts
and swallowed the sun

Yesterday,
in the scorching heat
I was searching my way back
to the world called reality.
