I have been following up Olympics for the first time, watching out for all the popular events at this grand sports celebration. It's thrilling and really inspiring to see the best of the world perform.
India hasn't had great luck. Indian hockey in particular disappointed lot of fans back home. While Rathod brought some glory, all eyes are now glued at tomorrows long jump final in which Anju Bobby Geogre is participating. I sometimes wonder how China really dominated the tournament. Americans winning is still understandable - they all have enough money to nuture talent. It's high time Indian sports lovers look beyond cricket.
I am optimistic about future of Indian atheletics and hockey. In 2012 we should rank in the top 20 countries. We can make difference by watching more of these sports and create awareness about it amoung our peers.
I like Poll Vault event the best - it's really thrilling!
"I have called the recovery van, they shall tow your Santro" said the police inspector. His junior was standing besides him explaining to me that they had been looking around asking people if they knew who owned this car. They had no clue about the whereabouts of its owner and hence they decided to tow it off to a near by police station.
August 15th, all this for august 15th - Independence Day - when VIP movement is at the peak. The city is flooded with cops with fancy walky-talkies. On any other day, parking in that area would not be a problem. I apologized and requested him to let me park it elsewhere and not have it taken away by a recovery van. Initially he refused but after some drama he left me with a warning.
I went back to the lab and saw the last A4 print coming out of the dark room. The results were brilliant not because I am a great photographer but coz Ramesh (owner of R K Pro Lab) had done an execellent job. It's said that 50% is photographers contribution and 50% is a dark room experts contribution to any picture. Well, he is doing his 50% very well and I hope to catch up with my bit soon.
To keep the learning process on besides the time constraint, I have further experimented clicking people. My favorite and most cooperative subject has been Naksh (my sister's son). I catch up with him when I get home for lunch. The only place where the light is sufficient is my room's balcony. Just that area around it has been my field for my last 3 rolls.
Naksh is now 13 months old. Please go on looking at the snaps and feel free to pass on your comments. Click on the picture to view it full size.
