Useful iPhoto Tips

Important iPhoto tips without which iPhoto is not very powerful!

Deleting from Album and Library at Once
Press [Alt] + [Command] + [Delete]. You photo would be deleted from the Album and Library at once. This is damn handy! The photo goes in the Trash so you can always revert back.

Managing Multiple Libraries
For people who click way too often and are complaining about iPhoto loading slowly here are few steps can create a huge difference in iPhoto's performance.

  • Keep the ALT key pressed while launching iPhoto. This can let you create a new Library or Choose from available Libraries. For instance, I have a separate library for all my commercial shoots and travel photography.

  • Go to preferences and uncheck "Drop Shadow" and "Outline" option.

  • Turn off Last Roll option.

Use Smart Albums
Use Smart Albums, just like smart playlists in iTunes, they are great for organizing pictures, especially when your library gets large.

The Reprise

Been years since I wrote poem and quite long since I shared one. I would like to share one, while thinking about the good old days when I could write:

The Reprise

The window is still open

A thought
escaped my mind
through the window
and flew across

I saw it hung over
the crimson horizon
and fuse
into the night

you met him
the other night
nurtured it
to become a dream

Last night,
a dream shattered
like a fragile glass
and broke the window

My first 10 mile ride!

Route: Home to Ganghi Statue (via War Memorial) and back.
Distance: approx 10 miles
Time taken: 50 mins (had to stop at half a dozen signals)
Start time: 5:10pm End time: 6:00pm
My Bike: Road Pro 0050

Great Fun! I had water along and friend to accompany on motor bike. Tried riding just behind the motor bike to get away from heavy wind break on beach road. I need to get a little more comfortable with my saddle before I can make it a regular affair. No sweat!
